TO: Customers of Analog Devices, Inc. Input Output Subsystems
(IOS) and Industrial Component Isolation (ICI) Products within
the Multi-Chip Products Group
REGARDING: Compliance of IOS and ICI Products to the RoHS
Initiative
Analog Devices is committed to operate in an environmentally responsible
manner and comply with applicable environmental regulations.
The European Union's Directive 2002/95/EC on restriction of the
use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic
equipment (RoHS) is effective July 1, 2006.
ADI understands that the primary use of its IOS and ICI products
is as a component of monitoring and control instruments (as defined
by Category 9 of Annex IB to the European Union Directive 2006/96/EC
on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)). Such
instruments are not subject to the requirements of the RoHS Directive
and thus do not require PB free ROHS compatible.
ADI manufactures a variety of parts in PB free ROHS compatible versions,
however, to date; ADI has not perceived a demand for PB free ROHS
compatible versions of its IOS and ICI products.
Please note that when an OEM customer incorporates an ADI IOS
or ICI product into a system designed for sale, the OEM customer
is responsible for its own system compliance with ROHS. ADI
recognizes that some OEM customers may require PB free RoHS compatible
products and we will work with our customers to meet those needs.
If you have questions regarding ADI’s IOS and ICI products,
or if your system requires Pb free ROHS compliant parts, please
contact us.
